I first read about Karl and what he is trying to achieve for older people in mid 2022.
The idea of ageing well, becoming stronger, building muscle mass and hopefully staying mobile longer, was appealing and what I was looking for. I found the courage to contact Karl, and began individual training with him.
The instruction and encouragement was amazing. I made the time and resolved to persevere; it turned out I actually enjoyed the challenge, the routine and the fact that it wasn’t a “class”, I was only competing against myself.
Now I’m on my own program, and enjoying the challenge and the company and relaxed atmosphere at Groundwork. I feel stronger generally and have noticed the improvement in my yoga practice as well.
I’m constantly amazed at the weights I’m working with.I’ve been able to persuade several friends to come along and they’ve all become Karl’s devotees!! One friend( aged 81 !!) was hesitant but now goes 3 times a week and is achieving wonderful goals.
As well as great training, a sense of personal accomplishment, Karl makes a great coffee!
